ICMA-RC Hires Industry Veteran Bruce Corcoran

June 21, 2018

ICMA-RC, which has served public sector retirement plans and employees since 1972, has hired Bruce Corcoran, an industry veteran with more than 25 years' experience in the public sector and financial services space.

Bruce joined the organization in June as Managing Vice President working on special projects. Bruce will be responsible for exploring new service offerings that closely align with ICMA-RC's focus of serving those who serve their local communities. As part of his responsibilities, Bruce will introduce retirement plan services to a new category of plan sponsors across a range of education, healthcare, religious, and other not-for-profit organizations.

"We believe that hiring someone with Bruce's experience and leadership ability positions ICMA-RC for continued success given our long history of effectively serving the defined contribution needs of the public sector," said ICMA-RC President and CEO Bob Schultze. "Bruce has a strong track record of new market launches, and his arrival aligns perfectly with our organization's unique mission of helping others build retirement security."

Bruce's extensive leadership experience includes business development, change management, and strategic planning in financial services and the government markets. He was instrumental in growing retirement plan businesses nationally at industry leaders Horace Mann, TIAA, and VALIC.

"We are incredibly pleased to have Bruce at the helm as we set out to provide leading retirement services in new categories that align with our mission," said Michael Guarasci, SVP, Chief Financial Officer and responsible for strategic planning at ICMA-RC. "Bruce brings a wealth of leadership experience, and combined with the strong resources we already have in place, we look forward to raising the bar for new plan sponsors and participants across the country."
